What DuneByte LLC collects when you use this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. In short: we collect what we need to answer you, we do not track you across the web, and nothing on this site talks to another company's servers.

What we collect, and why
We do not have an account system for visitors and we do not ask for anything we are not going to use. Everything we hold falls into one of the following.
When you send us a message
The contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your company name and a subject. The message itself is whatever you choose to write. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else — there is no newsletter to be added to.
We also store the IP address the message came from and the browser identification string your browser sent with it. That pair is kept for one reason: when a spam wave arrives, it is what lets us tell automated submissions from real ones. It is not used to profile you and it is not combined with anything else.
When you request a demo
The demo form asks for your name, work email address and company, and optionally a phone number and a note about what you are evaluating. As with the contact form, we store the originating IP address and browser identification string for abuse triage.
Every request is read by a person. Nothing is granted automatically, and we do not run any automated scoring or profiling over what you send.
If we give you access to a demo environment
If your request is approved we create an account for you, holding your name and email address, and email you a single-use sign-in link. We record when you first signed in, when we last saw you, how many times you have signed in, and which page of the sandbox you were last on. That tells us whether the environment we gave you was any use, and it is what a founder looks at before following up. Access expires on a date set when it is granted, and the account is deactivated automatically when it does.
A demo environment contains invented data, not a real customer's records, and it is wiped and rebuilt on a schedule. Anything you type into a sandbox is deleted at the next reset — please do not put your own operational data into one.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, or to stop using it. You can also object to us holding it at all. There is no form and no fee: email info@dunebyte.om and we will respond within 30 days. If your request would leave us unable to do something we are legally required to do, we will tell you which part we cannot act on and why.
We may need to check that the request really comes from you before acting on it, which for an emailed request normally means replying to the address we already hold.
How we protect it
- The whole site is served over HTTPS, and browsers are instructed to refuse plain HTTP.
- The database accepts connections only from the server itself, never from the internet.
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. The temporary password generated for a demo account is never sent by email.
- Sign-in links for demo access are single-use and expire.
- The administration area is not at a public address and is restricted to staff accounts.
- A content security policy blocks the browser from loading or contacting any other host.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you believe you have found a security problem with this site, please email info@dunebyte.om and we will look at it.
Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
